Fiberfrax textiles have excellent resistance to thermal shock, corrosive attack* and breakdown due to mechanical vibration and stress. Insert materials are incorporated into ceramic yarns to increase tensile strengths. Temperature limit of insert material should be considered when choosing ceramic textiles.
Fiberfrax ropes and braids are durable high temperature industrial packings manufactured from premium ceramic fiber wickings. They have superior insulating properties to 2300°F. Fiberfrax ropes and braids have excellent resistance to thermal shock, corrosive attack* and breakdown due to mechanical vibration and stress. Standard products are low density, easily compressed 3-ply ceramic rope, and higher density round and square braids.
Fiberfrax products are excellent substitutes for asbestos products or other products with lower temperature use limits.
