For over 50 years, Armil CFS has been a proud distributor for the Fiberfrax Durablanket product family. Durablanket products are a thermally efficient ceramic fiber insulating material that combines constancy at high temperatures with total resistance to thermal shock. Durablanket products are high strength, needled blankets spun from Fiberfrax ceramic fibers. The blanket acquires its handling strength from extra-long spun fibers that are cross locked through a one of a kind forming process. Fiberfrax Durablankets are unaffected by most chemicals, resulting in exceptional chemical stability.

All Durablanket products have unique properties that include:

  • Excellent handling strength
  • Excellent hot strength
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Low heat storage
  • Light weight
  • Resiliency
  • Thermal shock resistance
  • High heat reflectance
  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Excellent thermal stability

Durablanket S

Fiberfrax® Durablanket® S insulation is the flagship of the Durablanket product family. Used in most applications, Durablanket S is available in a wide variety of thicknesses, widths, and densities. It provides an array of proven solutions for the broadest spectrum of applications. Durablanket S is best used for applications up to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Durablanket 2600

Fiberfrax® Durablanket® 2600 insulation extends the high temperature performance of the Durablanket product line up to 2600 degrees Fahrenheit. Rather than a composition of only alumina and silica, this blanket is made from high-purity alumina, zirconia, and silica spun ceramic fibers. This chemical composition allows Durablanket 2600 to have extremely low shrinkage characteristics at increased temperatures.

Durablanket LT & LTZ

Fiberfrax® Durablanket® LT and Durablanket LT Z Blankets represent the next generation of the Durablanket product family. They offer the same benefits as the previously mentioned blankets, but offer enhanced physical properties to improve thermal performance, handling, and strength. Durablanket LT and LTZ also offer superior thermal conductivity and branded printing on the blanket surface.

The added benefits of Durablanket LT and LT Z fiber performance help to reduce energy costs and meet increasingly strict carbon emission targets, without increasing the amount of insulation required. Also, customers can save on material costs by using less insulation to achieve the same performance as standard ceramic fiber blankets. This can free up more space in furnaces and ovens, reducing the insulation lining thickness up to 25%.

Fibermax Mat

Fibermax® Mat is a high alumina blanket manufactured using polycrystalline mullite fibers to allow for a high-temperature rating of 1650°C (3000°F). This product contains no organic binders or additives, resulting in no outgassing fumes. In addition to exhibiting excellent resistance to attack from most corrosive agents (exceptions include hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and strong alkalies), Fibermax fiber also resists oxidation and reduction.

Armil CFS also offers several alternatives to traditional ceramic fiber blankets. Insulfrax® and Isofrax® are low bio persistence insulation materials that meet European regulatory requirements (Directive 97/69/EC) for man-made vitreous fibers.

Insulfrax S

Insulfrax S blankets are a high temperature bio-soluble blanket with excellent thermal and mechanical properties. It is based on a calcium, magnesium, silica chemistry and is capable of continuous operation to 2012°F. Insulfrax S blankets offer both low thermal conductivity and excellent resistance to thermal shock. These blankets exhibit no smoke generation or outgassing while in service.

Insulfrax LTZ Blanket

Insulfrax® LTX™ Blankets are the latest addition to the Insulfrax product family. Insulfrax LTX offers the same benefits as previous Insulfrax blankets, but with superior physical properties to enhance thermal performance and handling. These lightweight needled blankets combine innovative proprietary technology with Insulfrax proven performance to create the best low-bio persistent Insulfrax blanket available from Unifrax today. Insulfrax LTX blankets are manufactured from alkaline earth silicate (AES) wool.

Benefits from Insulfrax LTZ blankets include reduced energy costs and the ability to meet strict carbon emission targets. Also, customers can save on material costs by using less insulation to achieve the same performance as standard AES blankets. This can help decrease lining thickness, freeing up valuable space in furnaces and ovens.

Isofrax Blanket

Isofrax® 1400 Blanket is the first 1400 grade classified low bio-persistent thermal insulation from Unifrax. It is based on a unique patented silica-magnesia chemistry and is capable of withstanding continuous operating temperatures up to 1300°C (2370°F). Isofrax products exhibit low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal stability, and thermal shock resistance. In addition to higher temperature resistance, Isofrax 1400 fiber has high solubility in simulated body fluids and carries no hazard classification, meeting strict European regulatory requirements.
