New! Silplate Mass 1500
Silplate Mass 1500 is a high-temperature coating for all refractory substrates. Some of the key features and benefits are as follows:
- Silplate® Mass 1500 is a hot face ceramic coating material for use over ceramic fiber modules, castables, and refractory bricks.
- Silplate Mass 1500 is a compound ready for application at temperatures up to 1500°C (2732°F).
- Silplate Mass 1500 can be applied to ceramic fiber insulation to form a highly resistant surface to abrasion and flame impingement.
- It has virtually no shrinkage, minimizing the appearance of cracks even when operating up to its temperature limit.
- When exposed to temperatures above 870°C (1600°F), Silplate Mass 1500 forms a ceramic bond providing further strength and integrity.
Silplate Mass 1500 when applied on hard refractory surfaces, has the following benefits:
- Increased abrasion resistance and durability
- Minimized heat loss
- Increased refractory life
- Heat Reflectance/Energy Efficiency
- Thermal shock protection
Silplate Mass 1500 when applied on ceramic fiber lining systems, has the following benefits:
- Increased abrasion resistance and durability
- Underlying fiber protected from shrinkage and chemical attack
- Minimized heat loss through cracks in the insulation
- Increased wind velocity resistance
- Heat Reflectance/Energy Efficiency
Silplate Mass 1500 Typical Composition
- Refractory Oxides, Silica and Alumina
Armil CFS is also a stocking distributor and fabricator for Unifrax Fiberfrax® ceramic fiber products.
Fiberfrax® ceramic fiber products are manufactured from alumina-silica materials and exhibit high temperature-resistant stability to 2600°F. Fiberfrax Ceramic Fiber products are characterized by low thermal conductivity, low heat storage, excellent thermal shock resistance, lightweight, and superior corrosion resistance.
Ceramic Fiber Coatings & Fiberfrax®
The Fiberfrax® Specialties family of products includes Fiberfrax moldables, pumpables, topcoats, caulks, coating cements, rigidizers, tamping mix, and Moist-PackTM blanket. These products contain a wet, inorganic binder to provide both strength and hardness at elevated temperatures. The range of product forms provides a choice of materials to address a wide range of application problems. These include:
- Resistance to hot gas erosion
- Flame impingement
- The ability to be formed into unique shapes and configurations
- Installation into blind hot spots and hard-to insulate areas
Fiberfrax Specialties also possess the advantages inherent with other Fiberfrax ceramic fiber insulating materials: high-temperature resistance, excellent insulating properties, thermal shock resistance, chemical stability, and ease of installation. Ceramic Fiber Coatings are refractory coating cement and are a high-temperature, air-setting refractory cement used as an adhesive to securely bond product forms to refractory oven surfaces.
Ceramic Fiber Products and Insulating Materials
Armil CFS & Fiberfrax Specialties also possess the advantages inherent with other Fiberfrax ceramic fiber products and insulating materials such as:
- High-temperature resistance
- Excellent insulating properties
- Thermal shock resistance
- Chemical stability
- Ease of installation
Applications
Armil CFS & Fiberfrax ceramic fibers products are available in many product forms that have applications in a wide range of high-temperature applications. Fiberfrax Ceramic Fiber products have traditionally been used in Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metal production, Petrochemical and Power production, and in Ceramic / Glass industries. In addition, Fiberfrax ceramic fiber products are more commonly used for abrasion and heat resistance and are found in these industries:
- Automotive – gaskets, lower temperature
- Aerospace – heat resistant, ceramic fiber cloth
- Appliance – thermal insulation, sleeving protection
- Fire Protection – refractory fiber, heat shielding for expansion joints
Rescobond 3000
RESCOBOND 3000 is a phosphate bonded, chemically setting refractory castable prepared for use by mixing with water. It develops a quick set and can be heated shortly after installation to provide your unit’s fast “back online” capability. In addition to its use as a primary lining, RESCOBOND 3000’s chemical bonding system provides adherence to existing refractory, making it an effective patching material. RESCOBOND 3000 can be installed by gunning, vibration casting, or hand-packing techniques.
