Unifrax Fiberfrax® Ceramic Fiber Blankets

Armil/CFS carries a range of ceramic fiber blankets for applications up to 3000°F (1650°C). Ceramic fiber blankets are lightweight, efficient insulators highly resistant to thermal shock and chemical attack. Durablanket® products are spun from long, high-purity alumina and silica based Fiberfrax® ceramic fibers producing a blanket with exceptional handling strength.

Durablanket products have excellent chemical stability and are unaffected by most chemicals except hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids and concentrated alkalis. Durablanket® is used throughout the metals, ceramic, glass, heating, and chemical industries.

Some features of our Fiberfrax Durablanket® products include:

  • High handling strength
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Low heat storage
  • High temperature rating
  • Direct Fire Protection
  • Thermal shock resistance
  • High tensile strength
  • Optimal thermal stability

Fibermax®

Fibermax Needled Blankets and Fibermax Mats are high temperature, light weight and flexible insulations manufactured from 72% alumina polycrystalline mullite fibers for temperatures up to  2912°F. Fibermax blankets offer excellent thermal stability and thermal shock resistance at elevated temperatures where standard ceramic fiber blankets can not perform.  Needled blankets are available in 6pcf and 8pcf versions. Fibermax needled blankets are commonly used in porcelain kilns, Refractory production kilns, Reheat furnaces, incineration equipment, atmosphere furnaces, etc..  Fibermax Mat is a very low density product (1.5 pcf) often used  as expansion joint packing, burner wraps, or batten strips with fiber modules.

Saffil®

Saffil® alumina blankets are needled from high-purity 95—97% alumina polycrystalline fibers designed for use at temperatures up to 2912°F. Low shrinkage at high temperatures ensure long lining life in high temperature applications, The high alumina content insures that linings will not degrade over time.  Saffil blankets also contain very low amounts of unfiberized material (shot), resukting in low thermal conductivity. Saffil Blankets are commonly used in high temperature kilns, furnaces , and heaters through out the ceramics, chemical, and steel industries.
