Fiberfrax® Duraboard ceramic fiber boards are manufactured through a vacuum forming process to offer low thermal conductivity, high temperature stability, uniform density, and excellent resistance to chemical attack and thermal shock. All Duraboard ceramic fiber boards are manufactured from high purity Fiberfrax® alumina silica ceramic fibers. The rigidity and modulus of rupture for these fiber products make them strong and self-supporting, yet lightweight and easy to cut or fabricate. Most ceramic fiber insulation boards contain small amounts of organic binders and inorganic binders that will burn out between 450°F and 600°F during initial heat up. Armil CFS offers both standard boards and boards that have the binders already burned out.

Fiberfrax® Duraboard ceramic fiber boards are used for a variety of high temperature insulating applications up to 3000°F.
These alumina silica boards are a healthier, safer alternative to asbestos boards and work well as self-supporting refractory lining or backup insulation. Fiberfrax Duraboard products can be used in a number of high temperature insulation applications such as furnace and kiln linings, chimney linings, high-temperature flues, industrial furnaces, pizza ovens, combustion chamber liners, and more with minimal thermal shrinkage.
Fiberfrax® Duraboards are resistant to oxidation and reduction and offer low thermal conductivity and heat storage.
Fiberfrax Duraboard LD is a 16 pcf board vacuum formed from Fiberfrax alumina silica ceramic fibers, and can be used in a variety of high temperature applications. Duraboard LD is classified as a 2300°F board, with a recommended continuos use temperatue of 2100°F . Duraboard LD is used in a variety of furnace hot face and back up lining applications. LD board is available in 1/4”, 1/2”, 1”, 1-1/2” and 2” thickness.

Duraboard HD is a higher density 26 pcf board with enhanced compressive strength and higher modulus of rupture. Duraboard HD is well suited for applications requiring extra strength, such as back up in brick linings, or larger unsupported spans. Duraboard HD is available in 1” , 1-1/2” and 2” thicknesses.
Duraboard 2600 is a ceramic fiber board designed for stability at elevated temperatures. Duraboard 2600 is composed of Fiberfrax alumina silica ceramic fibers and FIbermax mullite polycrystalline fibers. Duraboard 2600 is available in 1”, 1-1/2” and 2” thicknesses.
Duraboard 3000 is the highest temperature rated duraboard product, providing excellent high temperature stability and resistance to shrinkage. Duraboard 3000 adds additional Fibermax mullite fibers to the Fiberfrax silica fibers to increase high temperature stability.
