Ceramic Insulation Board Uses

Ceramic insulation board is vacuum-formed,  insulation with machinability. The manufacturing process begins by wet forming alumina-silica fibers and binders and vacuum pressing the mixture into molds. Imagine combining the high heat resistance and insulating properties of ceramic fiber blankets into a more durable, rigid solution, and you have the innovative product known as ceramic fiber boards. Ceramic fiber insulation board can be produced in many shapes, temperature ratings, dimensions, densities, and compressive strengths.

Ceramic insulation board is commonly used as a hot face lining in high-temperature settings. Hot face lining boards are backed by lower-temperature backup boards or ceramic fiber blankets. Low thermal conductivity, high-temperature stability, uniform density, and exceptional resistance to thermal shock and chemical attack are all advantages of Armil CFS ceramic fiberboards.

Insulating boards can also be used as backup insulation behind dense refractories such as castables or firebrick to provide a more efficient lining. Armil CFS offers several grades of Fiberfrax Ceramic Fiber Board and Super Isol Calcium silicate board that can all be used for backup insulation.

Ceramic fiber boards are incredibly adaptable and can be used in various ways. Backup or hot face insulations include chimney linings, industrial furnaces, kilns, stoves, boiler wall insulation, combustion chambers, heat shields, ceramic liners, baffle replacement, expansion joints, and refractory linings. In many applications, it also works effectively as a high-temperature gasketing material.
