Imagine the high-heat resistance and insulating capabilities of ceramic fiber blankets made into a more durable, rigid solution and you’re looking at the innovative product called ceramic fiber boards. These boards are a healthier, safer alternative to asbestos boards and work well as self-supporting refractory linings in all varieties of high-heat furnaces and devices – for applications within industries producing iron and steel and non-ferrous metals as well as for chemical process/refining operations, the aerospace industry, within high-heat appliances, and for ceramics and glass production operations. Ceramic fiber boards serve as linings within furnaces, kilns and ovens and also work well as high-temperature gasketing material in many applications.
More about Ceramic Fiber Boards
Armil CFS is pleased to offer Duraboard® insulating boards made with Fiberfrax® ceramic fibers, as well as high alumina boards for extreme temperatures and even low organic boards that will not produce burn out between 450°F and 600°F. These insulating boards are offered for refractory solutions to industries where high heat is a fact of life.
Armil CFS ceramic fiber boards are used for a variety of high- temperature insulating applications to 3000 degrees F. All Duraboard ceramic fiber boards manufactured from high purity Fiberfrax alumina silica ceramic fibers. All Armil CFS ceramic fiber boards offer low thermal conductivity, high temperature stability, uniform density, and excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical attack -exceptions are hydrofluoric, phosphoric, hydrochloric, and sulfuric acids as well as concentrated alkalis. The excellent rigidity and modulus of rupture for these boards makes them strong and self -supporting, yet lightweight and easy to cut or fabricate. Duraboard ceramic fiber boards contain small amounts of organic and inorganic binders that will burn out between 450°F and 600°F during initial heat up. Learn more about these insulating boards recommended for temperatures up to 2600°F here.
For temperatures above 2600°F, Armil CFS offers AirCER High Alumina Boards. AirCER insulating boards are engineered ceramic fiber insulation materials that are often used as a superior alternative to conventional vacuum-formed ceramic fiber shapes and castable products. These robust products offer superior strength, erosion resistance, high temperature stability, and are often used in extremely harsh environments (i.e. areas of combustion). AirCER products are available in boards, cylinders, and custom shapes.
Lastly, ISAFORM 2300 (L.O.) are low organic insulating boards designed to offer less burn out of organic binders at higher temperatures for application in which there can be no outgassing. ISAFORM 2300 are vacuum-formed, high-temperature refractory ceramic fiber shapes made from Fiberfrax alumina-silica fibers and binders. All ISAFORM products offer high-temperature stability, uniform density, low thermal conductivity, as well as excellent resistance to thermal shock.
